Genealogy: Where you confuse the dead and irritate the living.

I’m Caroline, welcome to my ‘Chronicle’. I started this blog when I realised I never really kept my family up-to-date with my research & I thought this would be a good way of doing that. This way, they can dip in & out of the blog if they’re interested & I won’t risk boring them all to death at family gatherings!
I’ve been researching my tree for a few years now and have gained lots of experience with different records, both archive based and online.
I’m also a history graduate – I attended Nottingham Trent University as a mature student and really enjoyed the experience, although it could be quite stressful, especially at exam time.
I’ve found writing the blog has helped me keep on track with my research, although I do tend to chop and change which branch I’m looking at, depending on what sources are easiest to come by at the time!
This blog will also include any interesting or amusing (to me, anyway!) bits and pieces I might find whilst hunting for the ancestors.
This packrat has learned that what the next generation will value most is not what we owned, but the evidence of who we were and the tales of how we loved. In the end, it’s the family stories that are worth the storage.
Hi Caroline
Just wanted to let you know about my new weekly History Hop which is a chance to share your favourite posts of the week and discover other history bloggers of all sorts.
Would love to see you there .. http://wecamefrom.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/welcome-to-history-hop.html

Dear Caroline,
I have enjoyed reading your posts and I recognise a fellow passionate family historian when I see one! I wondered whether you would like to be an inaugural member of a new genealogical Facebook Group that I and a couple of others are getting going. It is called 'Family History Unplugged' which will be a platform for airing the quirky, interesting, silly and plain weird things that we all find when researching our family history (we don't intend to be an advice forum as their are plenty of other groups who cover this). We will exist purely for fun, interest and entertainment.
We are not launching until 5th November 2014, but the group page is up and running with a holding message. We have lots of stuff planned and I am hoping it will be something we all enjoy in our newsfeeds.
The link below will tell you more about it.

Please join us if you feel it would be interesting to you. We would be delighted to welcome you. Please also feel free to tell your fellow family historians or blog about us.
Kindest regards

Thank you for the invite Toni, I've requested to join your Facebook group. I love the quirky stuff so the group sounds like a great idea.
